Where is my soul? Far away in the sky!

Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi? - L'Éternité.
C'est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.

Âme sentinelle,
Murmurons l'aveu
De la nuit si nulle
Et du jour en feu.

Des humains suffrages,
Des communs élans
Là tu te dégages
Et voles selon.

Puisque de vous seules,
Braises de satin,
Le Devoir s'exhale
Sans qu'on dise : enfin.

Là pas d'espérance,
Nul orietur.
Science avec patience,
Le supplice est sûr.

Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi ? - L'Éternité.
C'est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.

Arthur, Mai 1872

Wow. This is so emotional and so... pungent with the scent of hate and a hint vengeful attitude that goes well with the theme.

Cool, from what I understand of ghazals, you've attempted very well :) (my understanding is limited though). However, I do know that each couplet is an independant poem. Anyway, I enjoy the imagery in this and especially the third couplet...there'...

This is really, really good Velen. A slave to his fists...is what I get from the last line and of course for me, it is a most brilliant summary of this poem, the way I read it. This reminds me of a very great movie...Well done!

Not only this piece - but the maturity in all of your pieces as well - make me stop and consider, "What have I been doing all these years?" :0) In the second line *All them fall down ...* should that include an All {of} them? And, maybe just [All...

I love the rolling motion of the words, the rhythm and the rhymes. They create a vivid picture in the mind, which is beautiful. Nice work.

Whirlwind

Whirlwind
by Holly Blue

It's deserted in this hallway,
Training cries to spark a match
I listen as Bowie snaps
The final note,
The rope
To withhold lies and insincerity.
Another David once spoke
And plagiarized this book of hope,
His eye trained on me
As I look like him more and more.

It's a whirlwind lifting me up,
I don't want to fly off, or let go.
I dream of this burning house, &
It's more than I thought
Could exist
At all.

24th Crash in West Hollywood

24th Crash in West Hollywood
by Holly S. Blue

So you danced with Aimee,
So you crashed your car in her name,
You have kissed her lips and then discovered
What she's left you is love in a vacuum; it's
Everything you don't miss about her;
That was in 1985.

You say it took a month to realize your love
For me was what was keeping you on your
Bed past four in the evening,
What had you coming back to me
In your thoughts more and more;
You complain 'til Tuesday to
The bartender at Seven who wants you… Continue

Refusing to accept my reflection
Of the prurient debonair I saw, afraid time had
Had it's way with your draw,
You protected me
Like an
Angry cat over a
Kitten that I was no
Longer - o, you saw to that -
A fear subdued sets off passion rife with hysteria.
I am your voyage into the past, convinced your
Self worth is measured by this

Maiden love broken by your leading man vanity;
It's something to take away
With you before it all
Goes up in smoke and the mi… Continue

winter chill seeking your touch.

Point Of Origin

Deep-denim merges
long, muffled shrieks and
never ending film,
that rumble through the gut.
The churn and pebble -
a reality becoming numb,
when red-blackened puddles
ripple, silver coated rings.
Where stars are cradled as
if they were newly born.

Wonted little sods –
like startled tawny-bats
glaring ominously
through open searing cuts.
Their momentary wane -
before swooping for the exit,
hovering her dingy and
forever consoling cavern.

The place
where stale and fresh collide
and forbidden dwe… Continue

Gathering Clouds

Light disguised in pursuit of visions of night,
crimson sky rides into the trials of looming night.

Storm clouds gathering together in mourning
Outside shroud the breathless sighs of night.

The wind blows in the scent of fresh linen
Thunder echoes inside the silence of night.

The thunder drums one beat, together in unison,
Calling, a summons to the presence of night.

In each flash of insight mind escapes into
the nearness of the inner landscapes of night.

This burgundy wine, blushing from a… Continue

[Now Is The Time.]

A monster, his eyes ablaze.
Fire in his heart, tearing it away.
Now is the time, he spits.
Take pleasure with who we slay.

Hacking at honor,
Its all just a cough of blood now.
Chilling thoughts,
Piercing sick minds with a growl.

Again and again are waves of hatred,
Consuming his soul,
Rewriting the roles.

Its only a matter of time, before he cracks.

His family, his home, all gone.
No more will he see the honor.
No more will he feel her love
Or the taste of a kiss....

He is now this.
This ro… Continue

Clang

Hanging,

suspended
in mid-air

between here
and elsewhere,

The echo
of the bell,

swells

with a sound
that resounds.

Resonating,

it intones
image shaped words,
carved out of stone,

gathering together,

inside
the ocean
of mind.

Invoking
wisps of
Smoke,

thoughts caught
in motion,

clouds of emotion
drifting by.

Velen Revinem

[Ocean's Peril]

The ocean eats them one by one, their lungs replaced by salty waters, like knives in their throats.
All of them fall down, down, into liquid darkness.
Never again seeing the light of day, never again sailing on their beloved, which sinks gracefully beside them.
News of the deaths of those aboard this legend is going to travel swiftly, like a gull in the warmest season.

One sailor is plagued by his past as he sinks, almost unconscious, barely hanging on to his thoughts, his breath.

He gulps for… Continue
