Where is my soul? Far away in the sky!

Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi? - L'Éternité.
C'est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.

Âme sentinelle,
Murmurons l'aveu
De la nuit si nulle
Et du jour en feu.

Des humains suffrages,
Des communs élans
Là tu te dégages
Et voles selon.

Puisque de vous seules,
Braises de satin,
Le Devoir s'exhale
Sans qu'on dise : enfin.

Là pas d'espérance,
Nul orietur.
Science avec patience,
Le supplice est sûr.

Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi ? - L'Éternité.
C'est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.

Arthur, Mai 1872

Whoa! What a ride...A slow intro. sped up as the character goes down and a meandering back, discovering he survived...I especially like Earthbound, I've watched the sun rise again...beautiful. What a gripping and very good read :)

Thanks Ailill :) Well, Totara is a tree...Totara tree. 'Bones' being metaphorical for strength. The Totara tree 'wood' use to be widely utilized before it was protected :), its like gold :)

yeah, I agree with A2KDavis.. good use of dialogue.. Maybe you could put the dialogue in quotation marks? - Just an idea.. After doing this, you might enjoy Beckets play 'Waiting for Godot' I think, thats the name of it, right?

An interesting write Christian...I really like the conversational tone, the two different voices and the realization of what seems to be a confusion of fantasy and reality on the male's part...Good write :)

This is a very good write Alicia, for me its along the lines of empathy and maybe the fear after a nightmare. Anyway, nice write :)

Dream Deer

Why did we meet?
was it chance or timing?

That morning you tried to cross
the crosshairs of my headlights
before you bounded in flight.

First time, naïve to this side of things,
rewinding my life into slow motion,
like a zen koan, no thought of future
or past,

contradiction or contrast,

just awareness,
that didn’t expect,
except hope……I
might…….Survive.

Diving off the road,
the wheel with a will of its own,
directing my fate on this blind
date with destiny, between real

and fantasy; like a… Continue

The Bones of Totara

Like a thirst barren twig, you are caught
On a branch - swinging, backwards and forth.
Your twists of necessity, the tiresome similarities;
Still taunt, from long ago.

The January sand-flies once danced upon her skin
And the sun-tanned grass would move swiftly
In gale-forced winds.

Once, there was a zest for more than
What now hangs from a 20 year noose –
Clutching the blows that today shows them all
You are not ready yet, to be you.

Your peachy bright face used to glow for a time. A time

The Howling

Waiting for a song to tell its story
On this biting night in mid January,
My lonely heart gallops with a vengeance
To hidden drums echoing the dance
Of that image of you howling into view.

The memory beckoning from you
Sends phantom rays, that pierce through solid walls,
into the maze of closets, rooms, and halls
which guard the inner garden of my heart.

These teardrops clawing apart this broken heart,
causing an electrochemical change
to haunt the chains of my imprisoned brain.

My neurons fi… Continue

A Conversational Affair

" What do you like? "

- He asked

" I take it how-ever I can get it. "

- She said

As he gave eye contact
followed by a crooked smile.

- He thought to him-self

" I like a good work-out. "

With much allure.

- She wondered

" How does he want me? "

As if reading her mind

- He answered

" I wanted to compliment your body. "
" To indulge times infinity. "
" Seduce me with your harmony. "

- He pleaded

Later realizing
that how disposable fantasies
through an emancipation of subtle hues
had h… Continue

Scared. Deep down I try and look for you,
Try to feel you, comfort you.
The sting of fear poisons my thoughts...
The venom seeps into the very bones that hold this,
This,
Mortal being...with mortal fears...and mortal aspirations.
The very existence of our beings could be destroyed,
In an instant life taken away...

I feel it, the pain gnawing at your soul...
Latching on like some inescapable parasite.
Feeding not off your blood, but your fear.
Seperating us, breaking us, destroying you.
It's 2am… Continue

[Language of the Druid.]

Wind speaks for the leaves

Whispering, shouting,

Talking water into the trees,

And so the earth keeps secrets,

As shameful they may be.

Wind Spirit

Wind spirit, magic child,
running free and wild
through alpine meadows,
and open mountain valleys,

gracing the background,
the scent of pine trees
drift on a cool breeze.
A swift, sparkling creek
sighs with the sounds
of soft melodies,

the thunder of your galloping
hooves, echoing in passion
with the rhythmic beats
of a distant drum, carries
the crisp morning air
streaming through the tangled hair
of your black mane, aflame
with the new rays welcoming day,
stroking your sleek chestnut coat,
in… Continue

Beyond WEbook: The Scent of a Poem

True objectivity cannot exist, only a measure can be expected. This is a piece of watered down, literary journalism. I'll share my etic (outsider layman observer) thoughts in response to your invitation to_Literary Criticism and Theory_, Satyr, and I thank you. Maybe this will stimulate your emic (insider trained actor) writings? Maybe not.

When I conducted factory training classes for customer operations personnel I was graded on whether my presentation was over or below the employees level of… Continue

Immortal Forever

You spin and dance, stepping to the serenade from the stringed
tango humming in the throat of the guitarista.

A dozens deaths before the heart shattering turn that
broke your loyal slavery from the pain of love forever.

You celebrate renewal, yet long for the lost death:
the time when the severing bite was only a threat.

Knowing there is a forever, missing
forever, between you and love.
